How To Start A Joyous New Year

First we gave thanks
for friends and family, near and far--people like you
.

Then we gave thanks for each other;
for love and friendship, inspiration, laughter.

We gave thanks for our home and our food.

New Year's Day Dinner:
Lemon Thyme Roast Chicken, Roasted Broccoli, Quinoa Apple Currant Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Cranberry Walnut Bread.

And later I gave thanks
for a message I received from a friend like you:

"Happy New Year, Bruce!
Now more than ever the world needs you to continue creating beauty..and celebrate Life!"

For him and for you,
here is a favorite landscape from this past year:

Mittineague Park. West Springfield, MA. Photo by Bruce Barone.
How do you celebrate life? Give thanks?
I would love to hear from you!

    Thank you.

More than once in the past year, your photos have transported me away from a place where stress was coloring my world. Thank you.

  5. What a lovely post, Bruce. As I think I have said before, you have such a gifted eye for capturing the beauty around us that so many of us might miss otherwise. And what a unique and special way to celebrate life by being able to share what you see and what you celebrate with others through your photos! I try to celebrate life by enjoying the people I love and having beauty around me as much as possible; I especially love celebrating with music that makes me want to sing and dance!

  7. This was such a beautiful offering. I can really feel your gratitude radiate out of these photos. And how do I express gratitude? Whenever I meditate, I finish by putting my hands on my heart and saying thank you for everything in my life I am grateful for.

  9. What a great post Bruce, great idea!

I try very hard to thank my hubby for the little, everyday things he does, the ones we usually take for granted.

  18. You know, if you look closely enough, you can see the clouds move across the sky and the shadows across the ground. You can also taste the goodness in that bread. Yummmm to life!
