Black Birds in Tree in Yard. Photo by Bruce Barone. |
We are formed and molded by our thoughts. Those whose minds are shaped by selfless thoughts give joy when they speak or act. Joy follows them like a shadow that never leaves them.

If you want events in your life documented or are looking for distinctive nature, portrait or wedding photography--photography with soul that inspires you
to live a more artful and beautiful life,
I believe those words with all my being.
ReplyDeleteThe birds in the photo look like the starlings we get here now and then, moving in swarms, like ribbons!
Now, tell me what the blackbirds were saying.
ReplyDeleteYour talents help fill my spiritual well.

ReplyDeleteTara, they say:
Remember
Four male cardinals
in the pine trees and
dozens of sparrows
fluttering about
the birdfeeder, Oh God
all is
crystal clear
this morning
give us this
day and when Jesus was
baptized he went up
immediately from the water
and behold the heavens
were opened and he saw
The Spirit of God
descending like a dove
and alighting on him
and a voice
from heaven saying
this is my beloved son
with whom I am
well pleased and
in our baptism
God will find
among us a dwelling
to comfort and
sustain us
peace is
the peace
of obedience
the kitchen table where I sit
to write, to see
is in front of a window
looking out I see this morning
snow falling, birds feeding
a cardinal, a woodpecker
crows, squirrels, I see
the bushes and trees
that will need trimming this spring
and in the distance the tree tops
and the sky, look up
see in the infinite what I take
sometimes to be the ordinary, lift up
your eyes and look
around at the day
give us the strength
refreshed in body
and spirit enriched
by the meaning of today
the window
the snow
the birds
and then I
wander a bit
inside
myself
thinking of the goals
I have set
down on paper
change is like black nights
icicles form from everything
the pine tree, the oak
the bird feeder
the gutter, they fall
toward earth
it is one
in the afternoon
and snow
just started falling
lightly, I watch
I remember
Mary Queen of Scots
it is rumored from whom
I am descended, it says here

P.S. My brother, The Poet Laureate of West Hartford, CT., writes a week or so ago:
"I thought you might like to know this information I got yesterday about the Palazzo Barone in Liveri, Italy. Maria Frank, the U of Hartford Italian professor, emailed me a couple of weeks ago from Lauro, Italy. That is the town next to Liveri. Her sister lives in Lauro. So I emailed back and asked her if she could get information or a picture of the house in Liveri. She explained to me in Italian and I'm not sure if she checked it out or her sister. Anyway, one of them or both of them went there, spoke to the mayor, looked through the locked gate. The property now belongs to the town. It is in ruin. In recent years overflow from a nearby mental hospital were placed there. There is a big locked gate and one can't get in -- danger from falling stone. Pretty neat!
