Painting Again

I am painting our sitting room.

I have painted all the rooms in our home, except where Susan and I have hung wallpaper; i.e. the bathroom and two different papers on two of the kitchen walls.

My favorite, still, is the living room. I had a vision to paint this room red.  It's "Poppy" from Benjamin Moore and that's me in the photo!

And here's another photo of the room featuring Nadine, aka The Cat Nadine or Queen Nadine!

Ah, but I digress.

I just finished priming the entire sitting room and I do believe the new color may bring me as much joy as the living room color.

For some reason, as I painted, I thought of this photo of Tara:

And then I thought of all the beautiful brides I have photographed getting ready for their wedding:

And then my mind really started to wander--and wonder; and I thought of painted sunsets:

Susan is at Jury Duty today (She's been there all week!) and I can't wait for her to get home see the progress I have made in our sitting room. Here's a photo of Susan from yesterday right before she left for Jury Duty:

Here I am early this morning. The old color is Benjamin Moore "Nutmeg." The new color is C2Paint "Garam Masala."

Do you like to paint?
I would love to hear from you!

If you want events in your life documented or are looking for distinctive nature, portrait or wedding photography--photography with soul that inspires you

  1. I do NOT like to paint, but I admire the colors you've chosen (and your ambition). And I love the fact that you say you can't wait until Susan comes home...

  2. Bruce, you are a husband after my own heart! My husband wouldn't give me an opinion much less a hand with an interior decorating.

To answer your question, I do NOT like to paint walls. That's one thing I will pay to have done.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I would love to have a painter like you every time I get the whim to change color schemes. However, I am the painter in my home, and a bad one at that. I always end up with some in my hair, that way all my friends can see it without driving over!!

  4. Bruce,
Love the poppy color! Way to go BOLD! I LOVE to paint! I change my mind a lot on colors in my home, so I have plenty of opportunities to get my paint roller out!

  5. There is something so therapeutic about painting and freshening up a space with a splash of paint. Even white paint can be very liberating.
Have a wonderful weekend and I know your talents are appreciated by many.
I want to paint you sitting pretty in that chipper room.

  9. Such beautiful colors! I love to paint, but don't always like moving furniture. Once I do get started, it's pure joy to surround myself with the chosen color. Thank you for a peek into your house which is very clearly a lovely home.
